To my surprise when looking through Amazon for copies of the manga/novel US licenses, I was stunned to see that last month, a subs-only US release of the anime went on general distribution. Only the first volume is out so far, First Kiss, with volume two, Second Star due 27th May this year.

Show your support people - you never know, if this sells well, Sakurako Kimino might actually wake up to how popular her creation actually is :D

For anyone unfamiliar with the references to Marlene Dietrich in the last chapter, watch the above (to the end!) for an short glimpse of the diva's stage persona and prescence. Take into account the fact that this was filmed in 1930, and you begin to see where so called 'ground breaking' acts such as Madonna stole their ideas from, and where the changes in society that made modern tolerance possible were sourced from.

One question I regularly get asked by readers is whether or not I know the name of the song at the end of the final episode; the one that plays in the background as the series of stills plays out events after the Etoile election, prior to Nagisa returning to the Dormitory she shares with Tamao.
